From the NY Daily News Daily Politics Blog

"Blaming Pete King

So Pete King, the Long Island Republican who chairs the Homeland Security subcommittee in the House, has been out there with the New York Democrats denouncing the recent federal cuts to New York's homeland security funding.

But a Democratic reader thinks King should be taking more of the blame than he is, and sends on a quote from King on CBS's local news in January, when the new formula was devised:

“This is definitely a plus for New York because the more risk based and the more competitive the grant process is, the better New York should do. Having said that, we always have to be vigilant and we have to make sure New York gets more of the money it deserves."
