More Foley Fallout

We have another quote from King joining Democrats calling for an investigation.
"That's why I'm saying let's do a full investigation. If it turns out anything was done wrong I'll be the first to take action. But we're talking about a young man, we're talking about someone here who was violated. I think it's wrong for anyone to take political advantage of that."

From the White House on down, some republicans have been starting to tread a little more lightly because this will affect the mid-term elections. I don't think Democrats have to try to take political advantage of this because this is just so despicable, voters will see that the republican run House is a shambles. The Democrats can sit back while republicans hang themselves. The story isn't going to go away and will probably get worse if more former or current House Pages come forward. The top five leaders of the republicans have shown nothing but malfeasence in the execution of their duties. Foley resigned but it should not end there. When the voters see that the republican leadership is still trying to hold on to power no matter how badly they acted - or rather didn't act - the Democrats don't have to say a thing.

What is curious is Kings "But we're talking about a young man, we're talking about someone here who was violated. I think it's wrong for anyone to take political advantage of that" statement.
Why then did King try to take political advantage of the church sex scandals when the Catholic Church opposed his anti-immigration bill?
Remember
when he said church leaders "should spend more time protecting little boys from pedophile priests"?
When the Catholic Church came out against the use of torture, King said "If there's anyone in the world who has no right to speak on sexual abuse, it's the Vatican. This is the height of hypocrisy."

So on the topic of hypocrisy, we have Peter King showing us just how it is done.
